Just the place for a snack whilst wandering around Rothenburg. We stopped by and ordered sandwiches, coffees and cakes including of course the traditional Schneeballen that Rothenburg is renowned for. Unbelievably only 16 euro for 3 hot drinks, 2 cakes, 2 sandwiches and 2 large bread pretzels. When I got up there, I asked about get a bottle of still water, she ran off before I could ask about one of the pastries and came back out all ready to be done with me. She sighed heavily when I didn't pay right away and she icily answered my question. I was so happy to get out of there with my overpriced water.
I was in this town on a tour and didn't have a lot of time. This place was fast and the rolls were fresh. And it felt very cool like the whole town did. I would have loved more time here.
Many places in Rothenburg specialize in Schneeballen but this particular bakery was recommended to me by many people. I tried all four varieties of schneeballen and they were absolutely delicious. They offer many pastries, coffee, etc. for takeaway or to sit in. Definitely stop in if you are visiting Rothenburg!
We enjoyed excellent coffee and a roll here, bright airy and very clean, enthusiastic service, a range of cakes and ice creams together with a lunch/dinner menu is available.
