I had a bit of confusion when trying to book a reservation on the website for Afternoon Tea, but the fantastic employees quickly helped me to set everything up. The food and tea were of really good quality, and the staff provided excellent service. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Montfort At Stanbridge Earls:
The dining experience was enjoyable and the restaurant is in a lovely setting. However, it was odd that we were allowed to book at 7:45 but then told we had to hurry because last orders were also at 7:45. This made us feel rushed. Despite this, the food was tasty and I would recommend paying a visit. View all feedback.
We had a lovely afternoon tea, but there was not the attentiveness we expected. The guy who was serving up did not seem interested in us. First, he never offered a choice ofwhich type of drink/ tea we would like, then no enquiry if there was anything we did not eat, the ham and mustard sandwiches were swamped with mustard and hence we could not taste the ham! Each time we had to wait until a member of staff appeared to ask for anything. These should be the basics the waiter should be asking the customer, disappointing. We were not offered clean plates for the cake and scones or a fresh pot of tea.. We then had to ask when the sparkling wine would be served.. we had to then ask for replacement knives, to spread the cream and jam, again had to wait until the waiter appeared. He appeared to have no time, no calm or interest in us, each time he seemed to want to shoot off as soon as possible. Such a shame.. When I booked I mentioned that it was my wife's birthday, sadly no mention of this through out our visit to this wonderful venue..so sad..
I booked an afternoon TEA for my friends, it was their birthday treat from me. The food arrived, it looked lovely and we started on the sandwiches thinking the tea would be along any second. WRONG, after 15 minutes I had to go and ask for our pots of tea that were meant to be served with our afternoon TEA. The clue was in the title Afternoon TEA. There were water glasses on the table, empty water glasses and not once were we offered water...... it could have been a very dry afternoon had I not chased the TEA. We were served' (and I use that term very loosely) by Lizzy, but quite frankly the manager should have taken her aside and re-educated her about what's expected from clients in decent hotel for afternoon tea, or any other meal. I will not be returning and nor can I recommend this place to anyone, which is a real shame as the setting is beautiful.
What a beautiful place for any occasion. Enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea with my daughter, staff went above and beyond and made us feel very welcome. Excellent value for money and stunning surroundings, would highly recommend.
We had an enjoyable evening meal here. It is situated on a retirement village but don't let that put you off we had a lovely evening and will definitely return. We visited on a Saturday evening and it was very quiet. Felt covid safe with temperatures taken. . The restaurant was very welcoming and staff chatty. Our meal was very nice, not large portions (could be a little bigger) but tasty. We had King prawn linguini and the fish and chips followed by cheese and biscuits and poached peaches with sorbet. The poached pear dessert was too small for the money and was the only fault we found. Would we return definitely yes!
