What Marg and Stew doesn't like about Lumberjacks Landing:
There are very few places to eat on the route south along the French Shore. After viewing the wonderful French Shore Tapestry in Conch we were glad to find this restaurant and enjoyed a sit down meal. We were the only travelers among a few tables of locals. The restaurant in this area seems to be the only option if you don't want to resort to eating fast food from convenience stores. The service was quite slow and more than half of our entrees were incorrect. The portion sizes were smaller than expected for the price. The interior could use some updating as there were areas where the paint was missing.
We received and ate our appetizer before we even got our drinks. We had to ask for them. All of our orders were incorrect. The chicken fingers were undercooked and the hamburger was overcooked. When my friend complained to the waitress about the chicken fingers being cooked in old oil, she simply told us that the grease should be fine and that was all she could do. There was no compensation offered. We were very disappointed and will not be returning. As a restaurant manager myself, I cannot recommend this place either.
We were pleased to find a nice place for lunch on our tour of the French shore of the northern peninsula. The menu had lots of variety and our lunch was good. We really liked the home made rice pudding with whipped topping. Comfort food for sure. The service was slow but it appeared that our waitress was also the cook! She did well and was pleasant and helpful. A very pleasant place, bright and clean.

As I recall we ordered sandwiches which came with fries and cole slaw which suited what we needed. There is a life size horse out front that is a good landmark to watch for. By chance we chose a table inside that was parallel to the horse which gave me a view of each end of the horse flanking my tablemate as he sat across for me. Hopefully I'll be able to post pictures when this review has been posted.
