This restaurant is truly a hidden gem. Although it's located on a busy street, it's easy to find. They offer fantastic breakfast specialties and delicious homemade dishes. I'm definitely planning to return soon! View all feedback.
What Lysy P doesn't like about Gold Star Family:
The food and waitress were amazing. My only concern was the person gathering dishes, I presume was the owner stood at the end of the room and starred directly at us the entire time my partner and I ate. It made me really uncomfortable. View all feedback.
My husband and I stopped here to eat. I had read the great reviews and was excited to try this small diner. Bacon was crispy and delicious. Eggs were fresh. Pancakes were a little too sweet for my taste. But hubby loved them . I asked for an order of biscuits and gravy. That was a mistake. They were covered in sausage gravy. It looked like dog food. I asked the waitress if I could possibly get gravy separated. She said no,that 's how they 're made. My not so great stomach would have wreaked havoc on my system if I had even attempted to eat it. Anyway waitress said no, that 's how they make it. I asked for the manager and she repeated the same response from waitress. I told her to take it off our bill as I wasn 't going to eat it. It was a monstrous plate of food. She kept staring at me to see if I was going to go along with them. I said please take that off my bill. She did very reluctantly. My dad used to say, that was my first time to eat there and would forever be my last.
First time visiting. My husband and I stopped in while we were waiting for services being done at the lock smith next door. We both had half orders of bicuts and gravy, which, by the way, were delicious. The biscuits were huge, nice soft texture, and the gravy was thick with tons of sausage and flavor. I definitely recommend it. The staff is so friendly. I can not wait to visit again to try some of their other items (especially the Greek ones) on the menu.
First time eating here. We came for breakfast and got more food than we could finish at a reasonable price. Service and food were very good. The wife got fries instead of hash browns and it turned out to be a great decision. They were delicious.

This was very friendly restaurant and the 1st one I went to after arriving in Mich in morning hours. We ordered breakfast food and it was delicious. The waitress had a southern accent and southern and southern style of talking....which made it interesting.
