Really enjoyed all the dishes we ordered. Hummus, baba ganoush, grape leaf, loved the bread and we order bread as it was so good. Then the entrees came and they were amazing. Can't remember the names. Favorites were the stuffed bread with the yogurt in the middle, the pide, and the grilled meat entrees were great too. We had such a great time that we decided to order tea and dessert. The bill came and it was really a... View all feedback.
What Elisabeth Borer doesn't like about As Evi Turkish Cuisine:
Nice family owned restaurant, but food is a bit slow to come out if there’s a group ahead of you. Unfortunately we had to wait approx 45 min for our food, and weren’t offered some sort of compensation (discount, or dessert). Tried the kofta sandwich and it was very plain. Just the meat, lettuce, tomato, in a bun. I was expecting a sauce or hummus or something. The meat tasted good, but all the bread/lettuce/tomato to... View all feedback.
The service was great. Very attentive and friendly. Food was fabulous. Great flavors. Want to go back and try other dishes.
The food is yummi and the service is fast and the staff are very welcoming and friendly.. I highly recommend the Lahmacun the mixed grill, and the iskender kabab
Very traditional Turkish cuisine. Price is on the higher end and the foods are definitely quite overpriced. If you don’t mind the money then this is definitely a place to try out.
One of the best Turkish food we have tried in new york. will definitely go back. much was not available because of ramadan, so it had to go for some other options, but nevertheless it was such a great experience. it was a kind of hybrid restaurant where, if you want, any drinks they go to the counter and get one and some time they bring it also when they eat happy jokes apart was very fresh and taste. Usually we feel hard when we eat too much, but with them not at all. service was relatiw faster than other similar restaurants and a lot of polish, I heard they had big tee, but could taste it because of ramadan. will definitely be back and recommended is adan chicken combination of bark kabob with rice lemon, swirl, salat and some brot. so it can't beat. a lot of fun
The best I had in the opposite! we visited as evi around 18 o'clock on Saturday and there was only one other table. when we were gone, it was full. a very pleasant and diverse group of parachutes that I could add. very welcoming and hospitable. eating. the hummus was fresh and the brot with which they served it was still warm and chewing and amazing. we have 3 different types of brotes dusted with meat and vegetables and/or stuffed and each was truly unique and delicious. these were the equivalent of pizza or stromboli, but with Turkish and Mediterranean aromen. they have strange names, but they have no fear. eating feels familiar and new at the same time. In addition, we have tried a mixed grill, which was essentially a sample of 4 of their proteins/cabobs (2 types of ground bark, huhn and a lamb copper). another great choice, because everything was tasteful and delicious. we have also tried the manti, the small dullling-esque bits of textural gratitude, covered with a yogurt sauce with what tasted like cumin and maybe dill. this one almost stole the show. so an exquisite feeling. Finally, we have desserted, and 3 of us 4 have ordered something. baklava was rich and decomposable. we also tried kadaif, which was good, but both used to be kunefe. that was one of the most unique, richest and tasty things I've ever tried. I will come back to try more.
