El Tenampa Mexican Restaurant

We love this place. Great Tex-Mex flavors. Large menu. Good drinks. Good service, everyone was always very friendly with us. This place is occupied during peak hours. Good beans and rice build a great base for everything they do. California Burrito, Carnitas, Crispy Taco, Enchiladas and Fajitas are all we have tried. They serve a unique white dip with chips and salsa, which we also love.

The best AUTHENTIC Mexican kiss. Loved the cheered tortillas! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The Shrimp fajitas rocked together with the Chimmichungas!!

I was in Mexican restaurants in New York, California, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Florida and I'll tell you if you're on i95 in North Carolina, hold here! It's definitely worth it. The fried beans are pork-free. The cheese is amazing. Everything here is unique and authentic! I'm trying to come with my family when we drive from NY to FL. Can't wait to come back!

We went through and everyone recommended Don Juans for Mexican food. It was Monday and Don Juan was closed, so we gave El Tenampa an attempt. Our Fajitas and Margaritas were great! Later in the week we tried Don Juan's and there was no candle in this place. For comparison, the food at Don Juan's bland and dry compared to El Tenampa and the Margaritas tasted everything wrong. I think Don Juans was very commercial and felt like a chain compared to this place that feels like authentic family Mexican! We returned last night in the city for another meal and it was great again!

This is an excellent place to. Eat when you are driving via i95 drop in to enjoy yummy tasty authentic mexican food.. We tried shrimp fajita and chicken friend chimichange and we should say were really some. Of. The best tasting fajithas we ever had.. The restaurant from outside might look a. Bit boring but the food inside is definitely worth the visit... A must try restaurant for. Mexican food lovers!!
