The restaurant offers delicious food, great drinks, and a fantastic atmosphere. The open mic nights are enjoyable to either watch or participate in, and the staff is wonderful. I highly recommend trying the smoothies, vegan pizza, and Thai ice tea – they are all excellent choices. View all feedback.
What Jennie McKenzie doesn't like about Back To The Grind:
This place had high ceilings, plenty of tables, eclectic art, and above-average super friendly staff. Unfortunately they no longer serve vegan desserts, and only have cheese or pepperoni vegan pizza. I got the pepperoni, and it was good. It was personal pizza size, and I finished it. The guy behind the counter made me a tropical ice tea after recommending it, and that was very tasty as well. Great vibe! We were visiting Riverside and wanted a spot to stop for a bite to eat. Back to the Grind was perfect. All kinds of options for food and drinks. Comfortable seating. Just a wonderful place.
What a great place to get your mind out of the ordinary restaurant atmosphere plus outstanding friendly service, and their pastries
Genuinely obsessed with this place. I have just moved from dc here and have really believed to go a local sweet / eclectic / quality cafe for coffee / food / work / chill. here is it. great personal, great music, art, queen/wonder, massive selection of sitting places (including 2 w cute terraces,) free wlan, beautiful city location and a ridiculous menu of coffee, smoothies, eating, ice, beer, wein, they call it. I tried the watermelon smoothie and it was absolutely delicious. only a stunning place to be for whatever they need: with friends, for work to grab a bite, etc.
Hands down best coffeeshop downtown. A staple in the community for a few decades now. Has it all, coffee, good food, patio, live music, community meetings in the basement, art, etc. No longer cash only.
Great local coffee shop! We were very impressed with the layout and artsy/library feel! Plays jazz music to make it even more comfortable!! We will definitely make Back to the Grind a must see/go-to for us!
