This little Sushi restaurant is a very nice restaurant to dine at or even order take-out. While the prices are a bit higher than other Sushi places, the food is worth it and it is consistently very good. This is my top recommendation for Sushi in Richmond Hill. The staff is very friendly. The only downside is the location is small but they do try to accommodate. They are busy most of the time but that is because they... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about MI-NE Japanese Restaurant:
Everything we ordered, sashimi and tamaki rolls did not taste good at all. The soft shell crab had a funny taste and the yellowtail and salmon were not good cuts and had little flavour to them. This is likely the worst sushi restaurant I have experienced anywhere. View all feedback.
MI NE has been very consistent over the years. It serves Korean style Japanese sushi rolls a little complicated sounding, I know. Service is excellent and food is fresh and delicious! The Kalbi beef rib appetizer or box set appears pricey but when you're served, you'll realize that it's a very high quality short beef rib, juicy, without excess fat you get with cheaper cuts. It'd delicious! You'll want to eat all the veggies the kalbi is served on as they absorb the sweet beefy flavour of these ribs. The specialty rolls seem pricey as well, but they are large, with only a thin (1 to 2 grains thick! layer of rice around generous fillings topped with as generous sashimi etc. Two specialty rolls can easily full 2 adults. The regular rolls are good, albeit smaller, but also priced according we ordered the yam tempura roll for under $10. It came out as 6 rolls with a large serving on sweet potato fries on top! This is the OG location, I believe, a little on the small side. We had no issues getting a booth for 5 at 1pm on a Sunday but would suggest getting reservations for dinner time.
Lunch special has lots of choices and pretty decent price. Food 8/10
We have been regular customers of Mi-NE for many years. It used to be the top spot for sushi in Richmond Hill. However, over the years, prices have steadily increased, leading us to purchase less and less from them. While the food is still tasty, we have noticed a decline in portion size, quality, and presentation. The in-house atmosphere has never been great, and it now feels more like a takeout place than a sit-down restaurant. This may have been exacerbated by COVID, as the restaurant focused on takeout to stay afloat. The service has always been average, and we are unsure if this has changed since we have not dined in recently. Occasionally, an item is missing from our order, such as a sauce, but this is not a frequent occurrence. Overall, the food is decent and we would consider ordering from them again.
Went there for a quick bite and was pleasantly surprised at how fast the rolls came out. Service was attentive and quick. We were seated quickly and barely had to wait for our food. (Rolls and sushi only) We will definitely be going back.
The food at this Japanese restaurant is fantastic. The sushi, beef teriyaki, and soup were all delicious, and the service was excellent. Highly recommended.
