Went there today for lunch. Didn't want the carb, requested to have more vegetable in place of the pasta. The dish arrived with lots of different kinds of vegetable, nice mixture of it, and with saute onion and sun dried tomato, not just a bit more of carrot or broccoli. I was totally pleased with what the Chef did with the vegetables. Will certainly go there again. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Maxim Restaurant:
Maxim caters predominantly to Chinese in the metro Toronto area. Its specials are of good value money wise to the Chinese customers who grew up with the Hong Kong style western cooking, which in my opinion is sub-par to a Canadian restaurant with good quality food. Having said that, Maxim does have a very good bakery section, and Maxim Bakery is a famous brand name based in Hong Kong, just like Din Tai Fung in Taiwan... View all feedback.
I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant: the cake was delicious and the service was excellent. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the cakes were, considering it was a quiet Wednesday afternoon. Despite what others had said, the service was actually quite good, and there was even a handsome gentleman working there who provided excellent service. I highly recommend this place for their cakes and I will definitely be returning for dinner because of the romantic atmosphere.
