One of my favorite places in the world. Their quality is consistent. I first arrived in March 2019 right before the COVID it was as amazing as I came back this time. The service is also amazing. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Julep's New Southern Cuisine:
Lovely concept restaurant. Friendly staff!! Lousey parking, don't think of finding a space quickly, had to then walk 1+ blocks. Slow service, cold appetizer and bland, not hot soup du jour. Cold cornbread and cold butter.... With the noise level on a Friday evening, it was challenging to have conversation! We would try again, just not to soo . View all feedback.
We came here for dinner on Saturday night. The place has great ambience. We had the pork chop and petite filet mignon for dinner. The pork chop came with sliced apple, potato and some kind of spinach. We didn’t really care much of the spinach. The pork chop itself was delicious. The filet mignon came with potato and Brussels sprouts and they all were delicious. We had banana foster for dessert, came with shortbread cookies and vanilla ice cream. It was delicious but nothing special. The drink menu was extensive and I enjoyed my drink. Parking can be tricky since you have to park on the street, but after 6 pm street parking is free. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Julep’s.
Went to Julep's for dinner last Saturday for early Valentines. What a joy! We had the Ravioli appetizer, and then I had the **** and my husband had the steak. Everything was delicious!
Cute little place, nice quiet atmosphere. Staff are friendly, but don't wear masks, if that matters to you. We had filet mignon and the jumbo crab cake, and both were very good. The Brussels sprouts were undercooked, but that was the only complaint. The flourless chocolate torte was delicious. On the pricey side, but worth it for a nice night out.
I went here on a Thursday night. The bar attracts many people for drinks and the vibe who may not want dinner. There is a significant cocktail and alcohol selection that is very well priced. Despite the white table cloths and high prices, the restaurant feels welcoming enough to walk into off the street. Service is very nice. The cornbread and butter was very good, a highlight in my notes. I had the shrimp and grits the shrimp were nice and large and the grits had a delicious nubby quality with butter. The andouille sausage was nicely cut. I enjoyed the tomato based sauce that balanced the grits. I found the sauce a little too smoky bordering on liquid smoke flavor that I tried to mask with grits. Others may love the high smoke flavor.
I don't know how I missed this jewel. You can find the best food in Richmond. Great service, great food, great atmosphere. Our new favorite. Cocktails were great. The reputation of the coin court is well deserved. No bad cocktail on the menu. Jack of all trades and passion fruit were our favorites. The fried green tomatoes were amazing. No matter what you would find in Magnolias in Charleston, which are the best in the south. Bad eggs were good, but my opinion, nothing special. I had shrimps and grits all over the south, and nobody could compare them to Juleps. One of the best meals I had in my life. If I'm picky, they should double the grits part, there were a lot of shrimps and sauce, but I'd like more grps. (That's picky) The pig's stall was also phenomenal. Some of the best collars in the city, combined with some potatoes and apples that were a large supplement. Please some how to maintain room for the bananas. Great dessert and great experience. I will recommend this place for a long time. Thank you, Juleps, for making a special anniversary.
