The Coocoo's Nest - Reykjavik

Absolutely divine eating, fabulous cocktails and atmosphere. super friendly and fast service. highly recommended!

Had the “vegan surprise” (sour teough bread with pesto and grilled vegetables) and the zucchini cake it was amazing!! You also have a breakfast Burrito that can be made vegan and pancakes with berries!

First I admit I was disappointed to see only a vegan option in the breakfast menu, but that disappeared as soon as the meal showed up. It is called the vegan surprise, I assume because they use all the veggies they have available this day. It was basically an avocado toast with grilled vegetables, but it was really so much more than that. There were many different flavors/texturs, etc. that made it a deliciously complex taste overall. I was sad that the next morning we were not open enough.

We visited a few museums in the neighborhood and that was a nice place to stop for lunch. They had a fantastic green juice elixir and a vegan surprise, grilled vegetables with toast avocados and a beautiful salsa. Top Notch.

The Coocoo Nest is a cozy and soul warming restaurant in Grandi area in Reykjavík. It is indeed one of my favourites where to eat delicious food, prepared with fresh and high quality ingredients and a lot of love. The atmosphere is amazing how the staff and the food and drinks served. Very recommended!
