Sometimes you want to go everybody kowns your name. And their always glad you came. Except for the security people. They are extremely important and very judgemental. Dont be in your car too long or wait for your party there.. Don't expect them to be helpful in filing reports or assisting you when someone breaks your window in their parking lot and steals your things. Its not their fault or responsibility to help you... Yut ta hey?Haven't been here for awhile.Worse than ever!?I went to the promotion deck to get my $5 free play cause I'm a driver. Nope, it's $2 now.I went to play, wouldn't give me $2. The young lady at the bar, who was very nice, tried to help me. No luck. She sent me back to the promotion desk. On break ?I waited for the attendant to return.Told her the problem.I was told I had to go to the kiosk outside the promo to activate it. Aaaaa.. shouldn't you have told that before?Tried the kiosk... nope.Yut ta hey?!I was told I had to use the credit before 10 pm. ??Once again perhaps that should have been explained!Still serves beverages in plastic. The Natives I grow with taught me to protect the environment.Everything is expensive. No live black jack.I won't be coming back again.Back to Rock KEY Boy Rez!?
Fun small family based casino. Ladies night gets popping weekly. Fantastic food options and variety of machines. The Sportsbook used to be cool, sadly, is now just a kiosk with no customer service available. It is as useful as having scissor hands inside a balloon shop.
So, I’ll start by saying I’m a regular here. Not that I love the Tamarack, it’s just convenient. The NV Steak restaurant is hit or miss in terms of being ‘good’. They have great waitstaff…Jerry is a great helper and Lynnette always does a great job. The filet is a bit tasteless 95% of the time. They used to help it with shrimp scampi but recently discontinued it.As for the little cafe, it’s a great place to have breakfast or a burger. Never had anything ‘awful’ in the cafe. The bars in the Tamarack are really quite nice. Just play video poker or blackjack on the machine in front of you and Amanda will take care of you.The machines in the casino aren’t the most recent but they have some entertaining games. You’ll never leave ‘rich’ but the machines do pay from time to time. What’s interesting is that I’ve never had a conversation with anyone of the workers there. I’m not the friendliest looking person but you’d think after seeing me weekly, someone might come by and say hi. I mean not even the cocktail waitresses ask me if I want a drink! And I’ve won jackpots there and have had to fill out tax forms so you’d think Corey or someone would stop by and chat but never happens!Besides a staff that doesn’t really care I’d you’re there or not, the other challenge is that they don’t have tables to gamble at no blackjack, no roulette, no craps. Just machines. So, if you want a traditional casino, you have to go to the Atlantis, Peppermill or GSR (or downtown). I’ve never asked why but it would be great if they expanded and added tables so those of us that live in South Reno don’t have to drive all that far.Anyway, I’d recommend the the cafe any day and bars at the Tamarack. The steakhouse can be a nice evening out if you don’t mind sub par food. If you want to play a few machines, it’s not bad but know it’s hard to get the staff to make you feel ‘welcomed’.
