We stumbled upon quite a gem with this restaurant. The menu was unexpected and delightful, especially since it was the first dog-friendly place we had come across. The homemade dishes were excellent, such as the Butternut and Leek soup with a roll for only £4. There were options to satisfy all tastes. View all feedback.
What redscarfox doesn't like about The Sitting Room:
Called in for coffee and a bacon bun. Tries to be a bit upmarket but doesn’t quite succeed. Good coffee but the bacon brioche didn’t quite hit the mark and like most of the menu a bit overpriced. A bit surprised to be offered a suggested tip page when paying the bill by card. View all feedback.

For my birthday, my cousin took me out to lunch at this restaurant. I have been here a few times before and have always liked the food and drinks. However, this time was very disappointing. The coffee I got was not strong enough and the bagel I ordered had old hummus spread on it with a few wilted greens on the side. It seems like the quality of the food has declined.
Unhygienic staff wiping mouth on tee shirt then picking up food to serve without tongs. Dirty dishes tables not cleaned etc etc should be closed down
The Sitting Room has so much potential with its menu choice and location. We ordered a beef siratcha bun and a pulled pork bun. The beef was really tasty but it took 20mins just to get our pints first and even longer for food. I'm not sure if the staff are family or artsy types but they seem disengaged and disinterested. Everyone was going back in to check their orders were coming. Lots of potential, maybe worth a visit it a year to see of progress..
I had a wonderful experience at the charming cafe located at Saltburn station! The food was delightful, with a wide variety of options for vegans and vegetarians. We indulged in delicious bagels filled with creamy hummus or vegan cheese and sunblush tomatoes. The selection of unique and aromatic teas, particularly the Earl Grey and Rose black tea, was a highlight, and the coffee was the best we had all week. The staff were welcoming and kind, creating a relaxed and unhurried atmosphere. Despite its small size inside, there were also plenty of tables outside.
