While the food is excellent, the service has received mixed reviews - from excellent to terrible. Customers have complained about disorganized service, uncooked pita bread, and rude behavior from staff. However, loyal patrons praise the delicious food and welcoming atmosphere. If you're willing to overlook potential service issues, Cleopatra's is a must-visit for authentic Middle Eastern cuisine. The slow service is well worth it for the freshly made, flavorful dishes like the beef donair and chicken shawarma at this popular spot in Red Deer.
We called in to pick up some take out on our way out of the city. Upon showing up the employees did not even start our order. We were even 5 -10mins late. We ending up leaving and probably won't eat there ever again.
The food was okay, but the owner treats his employees like dirt. He went out of his way to let the entire restaurant know that his female employee allowed a customer to walk out with two donairs in his pick-up order when he (the customer) ordered one. To the owner: mistakes happen, so stop bullying your employees over it. Also, you can tell your mother that just because a customer is sitting right next to the back door, he or she is under no obligation to open it if she is knocking to bring in her cases of Pepsi. A customer isn't an employee.
This is in my ever so humble opinion the best place to get a beef donair in Red Deer. The only downside is sometimes the service is a bit slow, but this is made up by the fact that the food is just awesome!!
Cleopatras is my favourite donair place. The way they toast the pita in the panini press makes it hot and slightly crispy on the edge. It's always busy, and full of locals which is a great sign of quality to me. The fries are thick. Really good food overall. They have homemade baklava as well. The price is a bit high, but service is fast enough for how busy it is. My ticket time was 9 minutes during a busy lunch hour. Its always clean. I'd give it 5 stars but for the bottled drinks and cheap decor, but the food gets a 5
Awesome Donairs. This is a family run business. Service is fairly fast. Staff is mostly family, they are loud and we've witnessed a few loud disagreements. Also they are sometimes condescending to customers. Seems rude...but they get away with it because they have a good product....reminds me of Soup Nazi on Seinfeld.
