Yummy! My first time I tried this place, I ordered the exit. The woman on the front was very friendly, and the food was ready when they said it was. Everything was delicious! Green curry with pork was for dying. Pad Thai had the perfect amount of sauce that had a great ratio of brownish, sweet and hearty aromas. Honey duck came fried, which I did not expect, but still had delicious taste. Green Papaya salad was refre... View all feedback.

Two words: Gai Kua. It translates to heavenly noodle . Or at least it does in my house. We always get two orders. you got four people? Let me tell you your order: House special fried rice, Gai Kua chicken spicy level 3, Gai Kua chicken no spice (for that person), and the beef sautee on a stick. That peanut sauce is to die for. The Gai Kua is similar to pad see ew but the sauce is much less heavy and brown. The house special fried rice has every kind of meat you can imagine in it, which is wonderful to not have to choose. And they don 't skimp, at all. there 's always plenty. The beef sautee on a stick is very tender and tasty, and you need to get a big lump of peanut sauce on it every time you dip. It 's such a sweet and savory combination. When I 'm sick, I get the wonton soup and I literally am better within a day. Its so marvelous. I 've been coming here for over 10 years, and it 's always been a family favorite. The sweet couple who is always there is nice and very accommodating. We 've done birthdays, graduation groups, and every occasion in between. We 've never been disappointed.

I'm so glad that my daughter and I decided to stop in last week and dine in for lunch. We were walking through the Rancho Santa Margarita plaza when we decided to have some lunch. We saw them tucked away in the corner of the shopping center and thought that we could go for some Thai food. We are so glad that we did because we came across the nicest host waiter who greeted us at the door and showing us their lunch special options. My daughter has a small appetite, so after looking over their extensive Thai menu, I saw a few items on their lunch specials that caught my eye. We settled on the ginger lover tofu dish, which came with sticky rice, salad and soup, all for $8.50. Although they don't offer a kid's menu or anything to keep the children occupied, my daughter was very content with all the attention she was receiving from the gentleman. He was extremely sweet about giving my daughter her very own little bowl of soup to make it easier for us to share our meal along with an extra dish. I usually have to ask for that extra plate at restaurants. The entire meal was enough for the two of us to share. We couldn't even finish all of the vegetables and rice on our plates. Definitely worth every penny of the $8.50. Extreme night and day difference from the service you get across the street over at Sake Sushi, which used to be one of our go-to restaurants. The delicious food and great service here will definitely keep us coming back!
I have a lot of skepticism when trying out new Thai restaurants. I 've bookmarked this place for a long time now and have always wanted to give it a try, but just never got around to it. First off, I had no clue Rancho Santa Margarita was so far away from me. Rice and Spice is located in a strip mall where Pavilions is. It 's small and hidden so I had to drive around a bit before I actually found it. Once inside, I was surprised that it was pretty small and a little concerned when I saw the clientele. There was not one Asian person in sight not that it means anything especially in south OC). I was seated quickly and the server was very nice and polite. I was given a lunch menu and immediately I saw items I wanted to try. Here I was on my own and I didn 't want to just eat one item and write about it, so I ordered 2 items. I got the green curry $7.50 lunch/ $8.95 a la carte) and the Crying Tiger $8.95 lunch/ $10.95 a la carte), which is a grilled beef dish. The server will ask if you want a spring roll or salad with your dish and I said 'salad '. The server asked me how spicy I liked it and I said 'spicy '. Within a few minutes, complimentary soup was brought out. It tasted like hot and sour soup, but not like any Thai soup I 've ever had. It was thickened with corn starch and served piping hot which is a definite plus. When my 2 dishes arrived it looked huge. I immediately asked the server for some take out containers so I could put some of the food away before I dug into them. The Crying Tiger was superb. It was medium like I had requested and the flavors were amazing. The meat was well marinated and grilled perfectly. The accompanying sauce was also very tasty. It is a tart and spicy sauce with a sprinkling of rice powder. LOVED IT. Green curry with chicken was a tad too sweet for me and the sauce was very watery. Although I liked the ingredients in the curry it wasn 't spicy enough even though I had asked for spicy). The accompanying salad came with a peanut dressing on the side very nice) and a scoop of steamed rice. I saw other people eating pad Thai which looked awesome I can 't vouch for the taste) and the special Thai BBQ chicken. I 'm guessing if their green curry is watery, the other curries will be too, so unless you like watery curry, don 't order it. I would definitely come back again for the Crying Tiger if they weren 't so damn far from me! Service was awesome. When I asked the server to bring me a small container so I can put my sauce for the beef in there, he said he 'll make me a fresh one. My water was always refilled and he stopped by many times to see that everything was okay.
I usually only eat at one Thai place... and its for lunch... and its in Irvine near my work. I have tried quite a few other places in the past and I just cant feel the love. Rice and Spice, I must say, has broken that one restaurant rule only for me, when it comes to Thai food. I found them on Yelp, checked out the reviews, and they had such good ones, I decided to give it a try. I ordered the Bhamee Kee Mow and my boyfriend ordered the Pad Kee Mow. He went all out and I think ordered a 4 on a 1-5 spice. Perhaps he did a 5. I took one tiny noodle off his plate and my mouth exploded. I wanted to order it at 3, but ordered it at 2, and perhaps could have been better off with 1. : The food, though, was delicious!!! We also had the Summer Spring Rolls, with Shrimp. They were really good, and the peanut sauce and sweet sauce were both great too. I will definitely be back here... many times in the future. The service was very friendly and pretty quick too. YAY for a new Thai place not far from home!
