you can't call me a vegetarian yet since i've only let go of beef and pork for about 2 years now. i still eat chicken and fish.. but i;m getting there. likha diwa is the most convenient place for me to try out being a real vegetarian. just yesterday, i had lunch by myself. the prices are very student-friendly. the place has a rustic and artistic feel to it. you can browse through very ancient magazines while waiting... Since likha diwa full vegan went it defently reaches among my favorites in manila, the menu is huge with a lot of choice and their weekend buffets are always a culinary experience.
It is regrettable that this restaurant is not strictly veg*n, because after the attempt nearly 10 of the local Veg*n food, this place rocked my socks the most! I do not remember the names of the dishes we had, but each of the two main and ducks (with generous portions of red rice) were completely delicious. Would return here in a heartbeat. I absolutely loved the charming little restaurant with its own cute garden. The portions were small but perfect for the prices, and the rustic feel of the painted wooden furniture added to the cozy atmosphere. As a recent vegetarian, I missed Filipino dishes, but Likha Diwa's food was so close to the real thing. The fried battered mushrooms appetizer tasted just like kalamares, and the pinakbet, miswa soup, rellenong bangus, and adobo were all delicious. The mock bagoong wasn't salty, but I still loved it for bringing back flavors I missed. The rellenong bangus made with tofu and seaweed was a standout dish. The vegan chocolate cake for dessert was rich and satisfying. We also bought mock ham, hot dogs, and magic meat to go. The magic meat needed to be soaked overnight before cooking, but the mock ham was perfect for breakfast. Even my carnivorous Filipino relatives enjoyed the hot dogs. I wish I could give Likha Diwa a higher rating than 4 happy cows on Happy Cow!
I love that this restaurant has transitioned to a vegan menu after being known as a pescetarian restaurant for years! I frequently indulge in their weekend buffets, where I can enjoy a wide variety of delicious dishes at a very reasonable price. The rotating weekly themes keep things fresh and exciting, and I also love visiting on regular days to enjoy their fantastic selection of tasty food.
The flavors are well balanced and the spices complement the vegetables perfectly.
