The Stash - Queenstown

Superbly located with wonderful views over the lake to snow-clad peaks this five star apartment hotel makes a great place to stay near Queenstown. The hotel provides a bookable shuttle service to the main town. The bar area is rather small and does not have sufficient seating for meals and snacks when the main restaurant is closed for use by private clients (which is was for two of the three nights of our stay). Sadly, breakfast was disappointing for a hotel of this standard.

We found our stay ok. I agree with other reviewers this is definitely not a 5 star hotel or anywhere close. It does have ok views looking out into a roof. The rooms are ok but small with minimal ammenities in the kitchen area to actually use it. No welcome drinks, fold down service, etc as you would expect in a 5 star hotel. Everything is at an extra cost like the bike hire which considering the distance from town and 5star rating would be great to have included. I found the booking system for NYE dinner difficult and frustrating in that I had to pay in advance months prior. Then the 2 days prior to NYE I get repeated emails asking for my credit card details despite already paying in full and being a hotel guest. It certainly did not make for a welcome evening out. The worst comes on departure receiving an email about a small stain which the cleaners can’t remove and so having the pay an extra cleaning fee. Isn’t that part of the hotel room charge? It certainly is for most hotels. I’m pretty sure a little soap and water would do the trick.

We loved our stay perfect for our family’s needs, amazing view, large, spacious rooms (we had an apartment , superb location (nice to be close to town, but away from the noise! welcoming/friendly/obliging staff. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5

Couldn’t fault it the views, accomodation, breakfast and facilities were perfect. A little way out of town but the shuttle service is great or it’s a beautiful walk along the lake. Staff were amazing everyone was so friendly and helpful especially Jimmy, Phillip and Marty just to name a few. Thanks for a great stay.
