The place is ok, but the lighting inside during nighttime is a bit dim, making it look gloomy inside, esp. if you are seated at the far end of the resto. The crew are nice, but the service is slightly sloppy. They served us crabs but did not gave us a crab cracker (Turns out we have to ask for it. What Eldred Emard doesn't like about Blackbeard's Seafood Island:
I recently visited ELYU ROADTRIP and tried their Calamares and supposedly best-selling bulalo kansi. The Calamares was decent, but the bulalo kansi was disappointing. The meat was tough and it seemed like it was made with leftovers from previous orders. The taste of the beef made me suspect that it had been reheated and reused multiple times. The meat was tough and it seemed like it was made with leftovers from previous orders. The taste of the beef made me suspect that it had been reheated and reused multiple times. The shrimp in their ELYU dish seemed either old or poorly sourced, with the meat being mushy and lacking in flavor. The Bangus was overcooked and the fruits were subpar, with the pineapples being particularly unappetizing. The only saving grace was the Sisig. Overall, I was not impressed and do not plan on returning to any of their branches.
The restaurant is decent, but the lighting at night is a bit dim, making the interior appear gloomy, especially towards the back of the restaurant. The staff is friendly, but the service is somewhat lacking. We ordered crabs, but were not provided with crab crackers (we had to ask for them). In another branch of the restaurant, crab crackers are automatically provided when ordering crabs. Despite being a party of seven, we were only given four glasses and five utensils (luckily we were okay with eating with our hands). However, the food is delicious! We particularly enjoyed the mussels and other dishes on the menu.
This restaurant is themed and named after the top islands of the Philippines. The prices are reasonable and the food is beautifully presented and delicious.
