Located in a good, walkable spot downtown, Rico 's has become one of my favorite places to eat in Pullman. Along with the best burgers in town, their weekend breakfast menu is the only brunch I want, better even than the local places that boast about their breakfast. Good vibes, good atmosphere. Gets loud sometimes because of events but it IS a bar so that 's expected. If too much noise bothers you, check their event... View all feedback.
What Victoria Brook doesn't like about Rico's Public House:
You guys have got to do better with your food. Especially your burgers. Cook them on a grill or get better meat because the taste and texture feels like you cook it in a microwave. The meat crumbles.... the fries are so thick and ZERO salt. They're so dry and thick when you salt them yourself, the salt falls over and off them like it's repellent. Salt them while they're cooking, guys. At least slightly. Change the le... View all feedback.
French dip was horrible. Charred roast beef to the point of burnt gyro. The “Au Jus” was not even warm bone broth out of a container. I asked for tequila. The server didn’t know what they had. I walked over to the bar to look, an older lady that worked there walked over and whispered at her, she told me nicely to go back to my table? LOL. I’m 47. Ridiculous. I heard my same server tell the table next to me they didn’t have chocolate Martinis. The guy pointed it out on the menu and she apologized. She then sold 3 of them. Horrible food. Untrained green servers. Overpriced. When my bill came, she rang it up on a tablet and faced it to me, clearly watching to see what tip I’d give. 18% was the lesser of all options. I would have given 15. My minimum. Had she not been horrible I would have given my usual 25%. I won’t be back. Horrible college bar with bland food.
This is my favorite place in town. I absolutely love Tawny and the staff. As a graduate student, this bar has helped with my move across the country. When I first came to town, the open mic was my first community and I am eternally grateful for that. In the years since, I have been able to come in when I am stressed after a long day of work, and the staff has always been wonderful to chat with. To my knowledge, this is the only bar in town with consistent live music on Fridays and that has been wonderful as well. They can get busy during the weekends, but the usual clientelle are townies and graduate students, so it doesn't feel like an overwhelming college bar like many of the undergraduate bars. The pool tables are the best and cheapest in town. I could go on, but I suggest you go here instead and draw your own conclusions.
Fish and chips were excellent and service was great. Recommend!!
Rico's is a classic pub, several beers on tap and a limited menu. Dark wood walls with lots of character. They are consistently good and make a great Ruben, Philly cheese steak, and have several other good options. All come with steak fries or crisps.
Gets two stars for atmosphere and live music. If not for those two things it would be less. I 've been going there once every couple of years for 20yrs. It 's always the same thing the food is good enough that I would go there more often, but every time I wait so incredibly, laughably, long for the food I order that I say never again . Tonight I waited well over an hour. And, the excuse is always the same It was a busy night ... and, you look around and only 20% of the tables are occupied. And, we weren 't expecting to be so busy for Mom 's Weekend (same weekend every year, busiest weekend of the year) [cue eye roll]. And, the whole time we were there, there were only four tables seated the whole time. Every time I say never again and a couple years later I give them another chance, and it 's the same thing. Boils down to poor management.
