Captain Don's - Puerto Vallarta

If you stay in an all-inclusive resort and don't have an open mind, you should just stay at the resort. This bar, I dare to say diving bar, in paradise, is hot, tired looking, slow, full and loud. The food is mediocre, the cocktails are nothing to write home. But I would say it probably has the character of a bar in a beautiful tourist town I've ever had. It's a barbarian. If you are your real diving bars in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Minnetonka or wherever you come from, you will come here and you will feel at home. There are many TVs to watch the game, the beer is super cold, the wings are better than some and the people watch.... I didn't see a single person in there who wasn't a character with an interesting background. If you will leave you wish you stayed in the less expensive, non-inclusive motel on the street and spent all your money on drinks here.

Just the nachos and Gravurfries. The nachos were okay. The Gravurfries were really good. The band played ok and the bartender spoke English. We'd go back.

If you're from Western Canada, you'll feel right at home. The owner knows how to make people feel welcome.

Great employees. Best wings we have found in PV. Good meatloaf, homestyle food. Nothing fancy. LOTS of Canadians. Lots of really good bands. Overall great place to hang.
