As for kid-friendliness, the restaurant is family-friendly with a mix of booths and tables, allowing for plenty of open space, so it doesn't feel cramped. There are two dining areas; one is likely better for adults looking for a quieter experience, while the main area maintains a reasonable noise level. I noticed some families dining with children too.

What james r doesn't like about El Mexsal:
Okay, the best menu items are their puposas! Everything else is okay, but lead out with their tasty puposas. The services is ...okay, not great. They forgot part of our order : The decore is a combination of old and new. Divey and more up-to-date mixed in an incoherent fusion. I would say these are the best puposas in Provo. View all feedback.
The food here is great! I had a beef tostada and pork enchilada and my wife had a beef burrito (see pictures). They both tasted great! Some of the best Mexican food I have had. However, I give only three stars because it took a long time to get food and we never had a waiter/waitress come by. No refills or even to just ask how we were doing.
Really good food. The beans and cheese pupusa were really good. Enchilada cheese was okay. Next time I would try something else and they have several vegetarian options to choose from. It looks small from outside, but it's a pretty big place. We went to a Wednesday at 5:30 a.m. and it was pretty crowded, but we didn't have to wait to take a seat. The server was great, very attentive and the service was fast.
Great service, good food, decent prices. Have been going here for awhile. Weekdays they have done good lunch specials. Large variety of options. Can get pretty busy at times, but usually still good times.
I had pupusas for the first time here. It came with a jar of pickled cabbage and sauce. The pupusas were delicious. Perfectly cooked and filling, balanced by the cabbage and sauce. The steak and onions were also pretty good, with a generous portion that also comes with your choice of corn or wheat tortillas. Overall I'd say it was a great experience and I certainly wouldn't mind going back again.
Never had pposas before today, but they are amazing! Carne Asada Tacos are the best I had. The beef saucers are large and delicious. My wife had three enchiladas. Beef, pig and cheese. She loved her (and she is a picky esser). Rice and beans are authentic. Service was promo and friendly. An excellent place to eat!!
