I first dined at Gabriella back in 2016. At that time, it was easily the best Italian restaurant in central Pennsylvania. Fast forward 8 years later, after I've had the opportunity to try multiple other area restaurants, and it's still the best Italian restaurant in central Pennsylvania. The atmosphere of the restaurant is homey, and feels like you're dining at a family member's house. Better yet, it feels like a fam... View all feedback.
What matthew swartz doesn't like about Gabriella Italian:
The portion size was enough to fill up a newborn baby I used to love coming here but really went down hill service was really freaking slow and it wasn’t even busy trashhhhhh I’m telling you guys if you would’ve seen my chicken parm you would have laughed at the site of it View all feedback.
My fave italian in the area, love the veal, great service.
Good food, excellent service, but loud in the dining room.
Our server Amanda was absolutely amazing! She was fully knowledgeable and her recommendations were above and beyond our expectations. She deserves so much recognition m we are here from out of state and she made pour experience one to remember. The food was undeniably delicious and kudos to the chef! Highly recommended!
Simply excellent from start to finish! I started with a Clear Blue Sky cocktail from the bar. It was hard choosing, because nearly every drink sounded amazingly perfect for me. My fabulous server, Amanda, recommended it along with a few other options. It was glorious. Then I moved to the Caesar salad... better than mine, and that's saying something! It had several bits of sundried tomato... but not any sundried tomato they weren't as sweet as those you find in the stores, and they added a nice unexpected flair. Then, my entree arrived. Veal parmigiana. I was wanting comfort food on a rainy evening. The veal was more tender than any I've had in decades, the pasta perfectly cooked, and the marinara was obviously freshly made from ripe tomatoes... no jar sauce at Gabriella! You could taste the sunshine that ripened the tomatoes. Just delicious. The Tuscan red wine I chose from the menu was the perfect accompaniment. I asked Amanda to get me the name of it, and she brought me a slip of paper with it written down for me. I only wish I'd had room for dessert, and the tolerance for a few more of the cocktails!
This has been our go-to restaurant for a nice Italian meal for years. While the quality of the food is still very good, the selection is not. We were extremely disappointed at our last visit to find additional items added to the cheese ravioli, no cheese manicotti, no Fettuccine Alfredo without a meat. As a vegetarian, the selection was very disappointing. We will be searching for a new Italian dining experience.
