I entered the Dolfor Inn and was greeted by what we believed to be the owner. He was very friendly and had a good sense of humor with us. The menu was not extensive, but there were enough options for the food to be good. And it was indeed awesome. I ordered the lamb, which was incredibly tender, and the sauce was excellent. My wife had the curry, which was also very tasty and fresh. For dessert, I tried the Creme Bru... View all feedback.
What mikebandophones doesn't like about Dolfor Inn:
Just opened after lockdown. We sat in the garden for drinks and snacks. I thought they were well organised regarding social restrictions and hand hygiene. The pint of Ludlow I had was great and the nibbles falafel balls and scotch eggs were very tasty. Very welcoming staff. They open for service indoors next week. View all feedback.
From start to finish couldn't fault our visit. Beautiful rural inn, in wonderful surroundings. Perfect is the only way to describe our experience.Great real ale, amazing food, attentive welcoming staff.Very comfortable clean accomodation. All the facilities you would need nice little extra touches.
There are simple no others words to say than The Dolfor Inn is possible one of the best places I've ever stayed in. That's because everything is done right. We only stayed one evening, and my husband and I cannot find a single thing we thought could have been done better. The room was outstanding, the bed was out of this world. I judge places I stay at by their bed and bedding, some places have a good bed and not good bedding in others it's the reverse. Here, everything is right, the bedding, the sheets, the duvet, the bed, the pillows all made for a perfect night's sleep. The food is also a must, we'd read some very good things about the food here and the online menu did not disappoint. 2 course for £12.95, and 3 courses for I think £16.95 (don't quote me). One prawn and one halloumi starter were both delicious, one ham, egg and chips and one Chicken, Ham and Leek Pie with some changes were out of this world comfort food. The portions were spot on as well. Breakfast in the morning, which is preordered the night before, was lovely. Shane was on hand for top ups of tea, coffee and toast if it was needed. The selection of cereals, granola and yoghurts was also fantastic. Hospitality here is not forgotten, if fact it rates as reason two why we'd come stay here again. In fact i'm already planning another trip to Mid Wales just to stay here, for longer than one evening.
We had whitebait and a carrot soup for starters both enjoyable. For mains, we both had a quiche lorraine, which was very good indeed. This is a lovely country pub, and our server was delightful. We were there on a Thursday and they offered a fixed price senior`s menu, which was very popular. The dishes looked good, and were very good value.
Warm family welcome and great food and beer. What more could you want! There was plenty of choice on the menu including lots of old favourites.
We visited yesterday as a party of 11 family and friends on a lovely long weekend away in the area. We called the day before to book and placed our order in advance due to the size of our group. The food was absolutely exquisite, all home made with high quality ingredients. Everyone throughly enjoyed their meals and were impressed with the variety on offer. Extremely accommdating staff . Great real ales and must visit for the homemade steak and kidney pudding alone
