Took forever to complete our order though we called n placed our order beforehand. After reaching the place we added a chicken shawrma to our order, they made it before us according to our customization but gave it to someone else! I didn’t even like it, too dry n no flavor. Though the philly sub n mixed platter were really good. Definitely would come again View all feedback.
What Lisa Mathews doesn't like about Five Boroughs:
Burnt pizza. Ingredients on my sub that I didn’t even ask for nor did it say in the description that they were included and I DoorDashed so it wasn’t nothing I could do, just wasted my money. View all feedback.
I can't describe how amazing the food tastes here and the staff is super friendly, the prices are the best thing about the place. I loved their shawarma and their Philly. Don't waste your time and money in other places. This place offers a slice of pizza for a dollar on Sundays. How crazy is that! Vegetarian options: Salads and falafel burgers and hommos and grape leaves Kid-friendliness: They have highchairs
Food is really Good For a Good price and on SUNDAYS THEY HAVE $1 SLICES !
Delicious food, friendly workers. Very busy during lunch time, so be patient.
Absolutely horrible Pizzas had toppings that slid off the crust, hummus was so salty, it was inedible, kebobs were overdone I spent a fortune to surprise my son and daughter in law. They had always ordered Chanellos, I hoped this would be a special treat since they loved both pizza and Greek food. My granddaughter who LOVES hummus refused to eat it after one bite.
Five boroughs is a big name to live up to, as someone from NY.. when I was looking for food I got excited. My thought process was “this is going to go one of two ways 1. They’ve got too much variety on their menu, I bet the quality is low 2. I really hope the owner is a true New Yorker and this place is the bomb. Dot. Com Unfortunately my first thought was correct. 1. The ac is not strong enough to combat to pizza ovens so it’s probably 80° in the restaurant 2. Maybe it’s just my years of experience, but I have never had a Stromboli that tasted like they used to deli pepperoni instead of dry /cured pepperoni(average/normal pepperoni) 100% alters the flavor. And if it wasn’t deli pepperoni, then I’m lost in the sauce. But the flavor was.. different 3. The garlic knots were brushed in butter, garnished in parsley, grated parm and garlic powder. The knot itself did not have flavor. Good crunch:soft ratio though, just not quite there. 4. I didn’t use the restroom, but my partner did and this is what she said: Disgusting bathroom, dirty floors, hand soap in a kitchen sauce bottle, I’ve never seen soap appear old before… but there’s a first for everything. 5: The marinara wasn’t very flavorful, and very liquidy, almost as if cut with water or something... maybe it was a fresh can.. or the end of one. I don’t do reviews… EVER but I just got out of a medical procedure and really wanted food… this was not the place. The pizza looked alright for NY style, the sub rolls looked okay. My Stromboli was melted all the way through, so that was nice. I just feel like if you’re going to rep the five boroughs you should at least get the dough from one of them. I’ve worked in plenty of restaurants that overnight frozen dough once or twice a month… there is and never will be anything quite like it. New York rating: 4/10 Virginia rating: 7 8/10
