Contribute FeedbackMaria's Restaurant offers a mix of experiences, with some diners praising the excellent food, friendly staff, and nostalgic ambiance, while others were disappointed by service delays and miscommunications. The generous portions and classic Italian dishes were highlights for many guests, with standout items like the shrimp Porto fino and Lobster Pasta earning high praise. Despite some hiccups, the overall consensus is that Maria's is a solid choice for a meal in Portland, especially for those seeking a taste of old-school Italian cuisine in a cozy setting.
Took my daughter here for her Pre Prom Dinner. I was both her Date and a Chaperone. I am sorry I forgot the name of The Waitress, but she was amazing. She was very complimentary towards my daughter. The Food was amazing. We started with The Fried Mozzarella in Marinara. I've never had Mozzarella this tasty or Fresh. Our Side Salads were just the right size. My daughter had Linguine with Meatballs and I had Chicken Parmigiano. Not only were the portions big,but they came nice and hot. Neither of us could finish and took it with us. I do want to mention that I did not appreciate the ignorant looks the two parties were giving my daughter. They kept staring at my daughter like she was some lady of the night. She was wearing a very classy Prom Dress and conducted herself with grace and class. Unlike the two holier than thought women who glared at her when she walked by to use the ladies room. I very politely let them know it wasn't polite to stare. I want to reiterate that those ignorant patrons behavior doesn't reflect upon Maria's Staff or Atmosphere, they were amazing.
Visited Portland from Virginia. We were a party of 4 and the portions are Extremely generous. We all enjoyed our meals. The phenomenal chef, outstanding cuisine, and wonderful waitress made it a 5 star experience. I had the shrimp Porto fino and it was delicious! Awesome restaurant!
Absolutely delicious food and wine. We started with an antipasto, then my husband had a few apps for dinner (crab cakes in the top 10 of all meals he has had and sausage and peppers). I had the mushroom ravioli which was also delicious. Kit provided excellent service as well.
I wish I could add stars for individual aspects and menu items. We 've driven by for at least 5 years driving to and from the Portland airport (PWM). Recently, timing was right for dinner. There were cars in the front lot but plenty of room without a reservation. Very Old School Italian environment. I ordered Eggplant Parmesan; recommended by our waitress. My husband ordered the Lobster, Mixed Seafood Pasta. It was WONDERFUL, especially at $30 because the price of lobster has soared recently. My serving of Eggplant Parm on the other hand was SPOILED, sour, moldy tasting, unpleasant. The waitress and I had a bit of an 'explanation ' back and forth. It took a bit of convincing but she took it into the kitchen. She came back with a new plate of Eggplant Parm. She did not offer me a substitute dish, the EP just showed up. Luckily, it was wonderful . She was very kind but no one from the management offered us an explanation or apology. We will consider returning when in the Jetport area. But we live in the mid-Coast region and won 't likely make a special trip. Although, that Lobster Pasta might just change our minds.
House made short rib Ravioli in a Marsella sauce...yes, please! Awesome traditional Italian food in a cozy space with great service. Great desserts, too!
