the teeblattsalat is not to be missed (unique and tasty,) and next time I go, I just get that! we also ordered three different curries and found them a bit bland and quite soft/mushy in texture. not bad, but not amazing. the robots make fun! View all feedback.
What 2dineout doesn't like about Top Burmese Burma Joy:
Tried Burmese Burma Joy for the first time this week. We ordered Samosas to share and I ordered the fish stew. My fish stew had a very good flavor, but was overly salty. We opted to sit outside, instead of inside the very attractive restaurant. Outside consists of covered picnic tables and a couple small metal tables with chairs. Being on NW 23rd, there of was quite a bit of traffic noise. Unfortunately it appeared t... View all feedback.
We showed up to Top Burmese after failing to make a reservation at another spot near by… and I am so HAPPY our original plans fell through. Our time at Top Burmese was delicious and fun!! The food was incredible. Our group shared the samosas (wish I could have had them all to myself hehe I devoured the Coco Beef Curry I ordered, my partner ordered the tea leaf salad and ended up being too spicy for him. I enjoyed the heat but I would say if you don’t like spicy food, don’t recommend the tea leaf salad. The robots and the drinks made the experience fun and memorable. I’m still talking about it weeks later and recommending to my friends :
The coconut soup was amazing! I didn’t know what to expect, but loved every dish I had. I also had the spring rolls and samosas which were both great.
Samosas were very good but it was all downhill from there. The rest of the food was bland. The service was terrible.Ordered what the server said was their most popular salad, and what the menu said was a signature dish, the beef curry. Both looked great but were severely lacking in flavor. Portions size was good but the slightly high price point was not at justified by the boring taste. It was not busy. Our server ignored us after giving us our menus. We eventually placed our order with the other server who actually checked on us. Our server came to take our order literally 30 seconds before the robot brought our food. He never came back to check on us. After finishing our food we waited, and waited, and waited for the check before my date finally called out to stop him and ask him for it.
Ummm, so this is best food I've ever had? In all of my 27 years on this earth, I've tried quite a few dishes. I've been abroad to Europe and south east Asia. I lived in Atlanta for many years and tried all sorts of international cuisines there as well. No food has topped this though, this food is heavenly. My girlfriend and I went and we got the chicken mango curry and the original beef curry they sold at their food truck. Hoo boy, I cannot believe how good these were. When we took our first bites our eyes locked in innocent excitement. Insanely good.I read a couple non-five star reviews to see why the heck this restaurant isn't rated higher than a 4.7. A couple people said the portions were small (we ended up taking home a small lunch sized meal because they gave us so much and a few others said the salads weren't the best. My personal opinion is that you shouldn't even look at the salads and go straight for the curry page. They have some vegan curries which I'm sure are amazing, get that instead of a salad.Anyway, you should go here if you can. The atmosphere is really welcoming and unique, and the service is pleseant (and you get served by a little robot! It's the best restaurant in the world. The picture isn't the best because we forgot about everything but how good the food was. We ended up remembering ourselves after we ate most of the stuff, and even then I didn't have the forethought to take a picture of just the plates. So I cropped myself out of the picture we tookDietary restrictions: All sorts of options, including many vegan friendly dishes (like the jackfruit curry!
What a great place. Delicious, unique food. All the Top Burma are worth eating at.
