Siri Thai - Portland

That's a first! that's my way to the Thai dining place, but a bit surprised by the visit tonight. $15 for overcrowded appetizers and the egg rolls are missing? I got 1 extra spring roll. probably the only time I was disappointed by this place. super hammered. I guess I have to start the double check of my orders.

I would probably give this 2.5, but it’s leaning on the worse end. Very over priced. $30 for 1 entree and 1 appetizer. No sides. The broccoli was mushy, the carrots were almost soggy. Everything had a slightly oily and slime feel/ taste to it. The pad see ew was pretty bland. Not terrible, but nothing great. The atmosphere in the restaurant is nice visually and clean. The staff was friendly. My wife and I love Thai food, however and this was the in the bottom 2 places out of around 10 that we have tried in SE Portland. The food is just really not good and I was shocked that it was rated 4.6 stars. It’s barely 3 if I am being generous. I rarely write bad reviews but I just don’t want others going in expecting something clean and tasty and being disappointed like we were.

I really wanted to like Siri Thai. But the primary taste of the food was sugar. Curry was a combo of coconut sugar. Had soup other dishes, again prime flavor was sugar.We really hoped for heat along with other spices, but it was all bland sweet.Thought some rice would be good to cleanse the sugar taste in my mouth, but the rice was old, not fresh at all. Money wasted, either giving away or tossing all the foodStaff was super nice

I truly do love this place. The atmosphere for dining in is chilled out and spacious with tasteful decorations and good music. The food is much better than average and consistently good. Delivery drivers plate on point and very friendly.I used to work at a fantastic Thai restaurant for a couple years so I always seek out good Thai food everywhere I go. Siri has quickly emerged as my stand-by in a city that has plenty of competing options. It’s high quality, consistent, and not overpriced. They’ll often include complimentary egg rolls or potstickers with your order, which is a very nice touch.I highly recommend you give them a try. Personally, my fave dish is the peanut sauce curry but everything’s good.
