People's Pig - Portland

I can’t say I’m an aficionado of BBQ but what I can say is interiors and aesthetics and aromas are very appealing to me. That’s what drew me and has me coming back. To be inside feels like a BBQ joint should feel ... low-brow and authentic without pretense. The food is the same with an efficient system of ordering ... don’t go and then **** about the service ... rather go and then rave about the smoked chicken because it is the most flavorful and juicy dish and it’s terrific. Ps. The service is always quick and friendly yet never effusive.

I came in for first time today. I’ll admit, the reason for peaked interest was the lamb on your menu. I was greeted by warm, genuine people and I am honestly amazed at how fantastic this place truly is!!! I was offered a trial of pork ribs as well as first timer, and those were if any doubt, also amazing!! Let’s get back to the lamb, though..... You simply can’t find this easily at most bbq joints and that’s a shame! It was served with both choices of fennel aioli and spicy vinegar. The spicy vinegar won out without a doubt for me, and I feel the need the get the word out on such great digs here in N. Portland!! Go get you some, like now. You won’t be disappointed!!

We just loved our experience at The People’s Pig there were 4 of us and we ordered the Combo 3 trays of goodness were placed on our table in a very timely fashion, being it was a very busy Saturday night! The staff was kind and fun to be around! We enjoyed a family style meal with plenty to take home! Best ever! My favorites cornbread ribs brisket even the pork rinds wow! We highly recommend and will certainly be back! Thanks People’s Pig for a great start to our night!

People's Pig is probably the best smoked barbecue in Portland (and honestly I haven't had any on the West Coast that tops it). I recommend the sausage (hotlink or pinwheel) and the pork if you really like smoke. Smoked fried chicken platter is enough for two and also delicious. Sweet tea and the banana pudding are perfect compliments

The meat just fell off the bone! This place was so delicious and the atmosphere was great! But best of all, the food was off the hook!!! A must try and we'll def be back!
