I visited this restaurant several times during quarantine, and it was a real lifesaver for me! The food is amazing, the prices are great, the wait times are short, and the service is excellent. If you're considering whether to try this place, the answer is definitely yes! View all feedback.
What Atom Ion doesn't like about La Bonita:
It makes me super uncomfortable to leave a bad review at a locally owned Mexican restaurant, but this is the second time I’ve come here and said I won’t be back. The first time I ordered 3 quesabarilla tacos and they were nothing but fat and it was nauseating. This time I ordered my 2nd favorite item, 2 tinga tacos and there was no cheese in either.Having worked in restaurants, my whole life I tried to avoid asking for... A favorite Mexican-must-stop in the Alberta Arts District. Fast service, friendly staff, plentiful portions. Try the enchiladas with spicy salsa verde and you are sure to leave a clean plate.
Stumbled upon this place walking down the street while hungry. Delicious smell coming from the door and the food did not disappoint. Some of the most well cooked and best tasting chicken I?ve had in awhile. Albeeno (sorry for spelling? was genuinely kind and super helpful! He knows his stuff! Kitchen staff was also fast and friendly! Do yourself a flavor and eat here.
La Sirenita La Bonita Well, what happened was my friend and I wanted some Mexican food. We missed breakfast and worked through lunch. We were starving. We found two Mexican restaurants nearly right next to each other and began to read the reviews. It appeared that there were maybe fake negative reviews going on so we decided we would go to BOTH on the same day and compare for ourselves. Both places you order pay at the register. You retrieve your food once it is ready and bus your own table. This is something I have found in many places in both Portland and Seattle. Frankly, I think it it is a disservice to your customers. The food ? La Sirenita was clearly the better of the two Mexican restaurants. Honestly I didn?t even finish my meal at La Bonita and I would not go back again. We ordered Veggie tacos (2) Chicken tacos (2) Strawberry Margarita Regular Margarita Cost $40 !! Four tacos and two small Margaritas ? $40 Let?s talk about the food Veggie tacos the ingredients are in the name right? Veggie vegetables. Not here, you will get rice and beans? The special already comes with rice and beans I would like vegetables in my veggie tacos. Not sure why my plate came with the actual beans and not the refried beans like my friends plate. They were not good at all I did not even finish one taco and did not take it to go, it was that disappointing. The flavor on the chicken tacos was just okay. The meat seemed a little weird as it wasn?t sliced or chunks. The pieces looked like the gristle but it was not. The staff had no interest in making sure you were happy with their food. No greeting. Just seemed like they were trying to make money. I asked a lady for a box to go for the chicken tacos and she handed me a small box. A few minutes later my friend asked for some carrots to go from the same lady she said she didn?t understand. She then asked in Spanish (fluent) she said she didn?t understand we told the young man and he repeated the exact same thing in Spanish and then she suddenly got it. All in all. Would not go back.
Food is generally good, but can be a little inconsistent, unfortunately. The burrito filling is often too heavy on the rice and not enough of the meat. Margaritas are certainly tasty. Avoid the side dining room by the bathrooms, it smells terrible! The bathroom cleaning products and other underlying smells are so strong that they make eating impossible. I wish they would use something a little less ?industrial?.
Great little Mexican place... Authentic taste.. Large portions... I had the tostada w/chicken. BIG , Tasty, and flavorful.. My bf had the Chimichanga Again BIG And Tasty. The margarita was good. Can get busy, but worth the wait..
