Irving Street Kitchen - Portland

First off, I’m flabbergasted to see so many good reviews for the food and drinks here. One of two things: people are getting paid to leave good reviews or two, all the people leaving 5 star reviews don’t have taste buds.Our server was super cool and what seemed to be the owner/manager/host was also nice. However, food is below par at best. You can’t call yourself a Tapas place and use frozen potatoes for your bravas. Mushrooms were bland, we had to mix it with the bravas sauce to give it a bit of flavor. Lumpia is ordered frozen and the sweet and sour sauce is store-bought. Nothing original about their food. We had two cocktails, both flavorless and too strong. Overall we’re sad we paid for such poor food and drinks. Our waiter was the highlight of our dinner.

We loved this place, food was delicious, service was terrific and atmosphere was perfect. There was music, a horn player who was great- playing a variety of songs, old and new. Our server helped us order so it was just enough food and we got to try a bit of everything. Highly recommend!Food: 5/5

Service was a bit slow from the bar to our table, food came out fast. Overall it was just an okay experience this time. Food was just okay. The live music was enjoyable.

An enjoyable experience with a varied and diverse menu.

Just nice to find a place to sit down and enjoy the meal without being rushed.
