What Sarah V doesn't like about Denicola's:
Ordered here a few weeks ago. The gnocchi and fettucine were both catastrophically overcooked. The gnocchi was unrecognizable complete sticky mush. The fettucine wasn't as bad, but it wasn't good. The sauces were fine, nothing to write home about but not terrible. The pasta was unforgiveable. I came here with hopeful expectations. The antipasto was good, however, the pasta, not so much. I got the spaghetti with their famous meatballs and the wife got the cannelloni. While the wife burned her hand on the bowl they brought her, she could have easily cooled her fingers by dipping them right into the cannelloni! It was cold! The quality of the dish was sub=par too. The sausage used in the dish was the crumbled sausage that you put on the pizzas. What could be worse than the cannelloni? The spaghetti! I 've had better sauce from Ragu!I 'm surprised this company has been around for 40 years plus with its lackluster Italian eats. Perhaps next time serve fresh food and not food that seems to have come from the freezer.

Ordered the Italian baked half chicken with spaghetti side dish and a dandy IPA. Wish I could recall the brewery, it was good, but not nearly as good as the baked half chicken. The chicken was very moist and savory, lots of tomatoes accompanied the bird and really enhanced the meat. I'll do that dish again in a heart beat.
We came here on a whim after going to John 's Market next door. My partners family is from new york and she wanted something authentic to 'East Coast Italian '. If you want pretentious food this probably isn 't for you, but this place hits the mark for classic italian food. Recommend the chicken parmigiana, spaghetti and ravioli. Love the family owned aspect too because all our servers were so friendly and down to earth. Lastly, it looks like an old school italian joint with plenty of sinatra playing in the background!
I received a couple of gift cards for Christmas each of them for $25.00 not only can you not use them both at the same time, you can only use $5.00 at a time. when I called to get information and was planning on putting an order the woman I spoke with was rude and had terrible customer service. I will never patron this place.
