One of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time. At first we were intimidated by the price, but found Canard to be unpretentious and completely worth the money. We spent only $60 each including tip for a drink, oysters, bread, a side, a main, and a dessert. Considering everything was extremely delicious, I’d say our money was well spent. We ordered the duck frites and the duck pancakes and both were incredible. Th... View all feedback.
We came here to celebrate my birthday and had a wonderful time. The server was really great and very knowledgeable about their wines. The wine list is extensive! We had the sliders, steak frites, and the foie gras dumplings. I would highly recommend the dumbing, they were very creamy and flavorful.Food: 5/5
Excellent ambiance and food. They made me a killer old fashioned too. We enjoyed the fried chicken wings, steam burgers, and steak frites. These people know food and it was the culinary highlight of our trip to Portland.Food: 5/5
Inviting and warm atmosphere. Staff really knew their stuff regarding menu and wine. Food was delicious (and expensive) . It's definitely worth it for an event, celebration, or treat yourself dinner.Food: 5/5
By far my favorite place to go when in Downtown Portland! This was the 3rd time I've been here. I am always one to try new dishes but I've gotten the same thing every time and it never disappoints. The duck stack is a sweet, savory and has a little kick of spice. Such a complex dish that I've never experienced before. This time I decided to also get the Albacore Crudo which was also excellent. For some reason I was not expecting it to be served in a bowl, I was expecting it to look like a roll or something along those lines but that's on me. Either way the flavors were melting in my mouth. I recommend this place to everyone I speak with while I'm here. Surprised to hear a lot of locals did not even know about them!
My partner and I moved to Seattle last year but every time we visit Canard is a must. The foie gras dumplings are the single best thing I’ve ever eaten, each time delighting us with a new seasonal variation. Very close second is the duck stack with the extra foie. It’s gourmet stoner food and I say that with the deepest appreciation. Sitting at the counter and watching the chefs weave their magic is an extra treat on top of the wonderful service we’ve received each and every visit. I love this place with all my organ meats.
