Was Kirk F at Kirkstile Inn a mag?
The Kirkstile is truly a hidden gem, serving as both a pub and an inn. The food is of exceptionally high quality—always fresh, often creative, and locally sourced. The rooms are lovely, clean, comfortable, and remarkably quiet; I enjoyed several wonderful nights of sleep. There are countless beautiful walks right from the doorstep, so there's really no need to drive anywhere. The staff are incredibly friendly as well... View all feedback.

Visited: October, 2015. We got a little lost trying to find this place, but, the views were breathtaking, so, who cares... This is a most charming English pub to visit. Cozy room with fireplace. Cheerful clients. Salads to start were good. The steak pie with chips, as well as sticky toffee pudding were both excellent. Finally, they feature a solid selection of local ales, and their European wine list is short but sweet. Most definitely, worth the drive to the Kirkstile. Recommend getting a little lost, too.

This was the best meal I've had in the Lake District! A large group of us (11 people) arrived just before closing, and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Everyone was friendly and kind. I ordered the Steak and Ale pie, and it was absolutely delicious. The mashed potatoes were spot on, and the vegetable medley was just what I needed after all the fried food I'd been eating during my trip. I also tasted my friend's lamb, and it was incredible. The only criticism I heard was regarding the chutney served with the vegan curry. Be sure to leave room for dessert because the sticky toffee pudding was one of the best desserts I've ever had; it'll be on my mind for a long time!

This is likely my favorite pub in Cumbria! The food is excellent, and the atmosphere is wonderful. It truly embodies everything a traditional country pub should be!

Honestly, I can't imagine a better way to spend a summer evening than sitting at a picnic table on their lawn with a pint of ale, watching the changing light on the fells. I could easily spend a week there!
