I don't understand the negative reviews of this restaurant. It is a hidden gem. My wife and I get takeout from here almost every week and we feel fortunate to have such a great Indian restaurant in our small town. I am a vegetarian and my wife eats everything, but we both love the dishes here. They are classic and always delicious. This is, in my opinion, the best Indian restaurant in County Laois. I used to order from this restaurant frequently, but once again the food was bland. The inconsistency is too much for me to continue coming back. I think I'll just go to Tullamore from now on. View all feedback.

I had a lovely takeaway for the family this evening, half portions for kids making it very affordable. Very friendly staff, we have a great chat whenever I go in. They make you feel very welcome and special. Massive nann breads freshly baked a firm favourite of ours.

I will never ever visit Great India Restaurant in Portarlington in my lifetime again. The guy who takes the order in the reception does not even know how to behave with the customers and he is shouting at me for asking information. He is treating me as if he is giving me food for free.
