I really enjoyed the chicken-vegetable soup. It is one of the best soups I've had in a restaurant. Also, the smashed sweet potato side dish was great. I saw prosciutto-wrapped scallops on the menu. Since I love scallops, I ordered them. I've enjoyed bacon-wrapped scallops in restaurants before. However, the prosciutto is not a good pairing. What Eag L doesn't like about Florida Bbq Company:
Have not been to Zest in the last few months after several disappointing meals. Chicken sandwich had a small piece of chicken on half of the bun it was served on, the other half was just toppings. Ordered a side loaded baked potato with dinner, nearly six dollars, was served cold. Asked to have it heated, it came out ice cold again. Side salad is a hand full of greens, period! I went to this restaurant recently during the Holiday weekend with my date and I ordered a Filet Mignon cooked Medium Rare and it came out Well Done like a Hockey PUCK with strings of Fat. I told my Arrogant and she stormed off without taking my debacle of a purported Filet mignon away and ran to tell a Tall and Scrawny manager that I didn 't like my steak. The manager came over to my table and was very Curt, Disrespectful and Brash and I told him that my date and I came to eat to eat together and that was she was nearly done with her turkey dinner and I wanted him to take away the debacle of this purported Filet mignon out of my face and take it off my check. He refused to take the steak off my check despite the steak being hardly eaten and nearly 1/4 of the steak being spit out on my date 's and my plate. After I went outside to smoke a cigarette and after I came back to my table I told my pretentious waitress that my date and I wanted to order two Liqueurs (after dinner drinks) which was frangelico and chambord which are aperitif such asbailey 's, Kailua and sambuca. This manager brazenly and blatantly said I 'm not going to serve your date and you anymore drinks as both of you are intoxicated. Mind you we only had two drinks prior to that and we weren 't driving as we got their by an Uber and were going home in an Uber too, plus we were NOT intoxicated as I believe this manager was looking for a pretextual excuse not to serve us any more products so that he could push us out of hisrestraint. I don 't recommend this restaurant to nobody as the food and service is terribly bad and offensive. If you go to this hole in the wall go at your own risk and don 't say that I didn 't warn you.
Went to Zest with my brother. I had the house salad with grilled shrimp and my brother had the grouper.
It made the scallops so salty that they were not enjoyable to me. I even removed the prosciutto from around them, but the extreme saltiness had permeated the scallops. I am a salt-lover, but this was too much. The chocolate cake dessert was good. The server was very friendly and attentive.
Visited this charming restaurant for a delightful lunch experience and left thoroughly impressed! If you're looking for a place that excels in both taste and service, look no further. I wholeheartedly recommend indulging in the exquisite trio of dishes: the Tuna Tartare, Zest Burger, and Shredded Duck Salad. Each dish was a masterpiece in its own right, a true testament to the culinary prowess of this establishment. The exceptional service I experienced added an extra layer of enjoyment to my meal. Attentive and knowledgeable staff members guided me through the menu, enhancing the overall dining experience. Their dedication was truly commendable and contributed to the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the place. I must admit that quality comes at a price, and this establishment is no exception. While the prices might lean towards the higher end, the sheer quality of the dishes and the overall experience makes every penny worth it. I had the pleasure of savoring the calamari, and it was a perfect example of how attention to detail can elevate a seemingly simple dish to an art form. The restaurant left an indelible mark on my taste buds and my heart, and I eagerly anticipate my next opportunity to tantalize my senses once again.
Called her for a tea and coffee to take away. Staff were friendly. Tea was brewed in a pot- amazing for a take away...very impressed! AND they have a wonderful accessible loo
