BaRyKin Bistro - Port Hawkesbury

I opted for the soup and sandwich special, and both components of my meal were absolutely delicious. The menu was surprisingly extensive, and they even offer dinner service five days a week. Our total bill for two lunches, including taxes and tip, came out to about $35. This hidden gem is definitely worth making a detour off the highway for.

This had to be the worst meal I have ever had in a restaurant. For over 35 years I have travelled for work and pleasure extensively. The service was excellent, the pricing was okay , the restaurant was clean , but the food was awful. As stated in other reviews my meal was contaminated with a fish taste.The noodles in my carbonara tasted like fish as did the focaccia style bread and Caesar salad. I would not go back.

Stopped for lunch with friends as we left Cape Breton. Our first time to try this Bistro, and we were happy that we did. our friends ordered, fish and chips and seafood chowder. I thought the menu provided many choices considering the room is not large. I had meat loaf which was prepared in a way I had not had before. It was delicious and even the variety of mixed vegetables that came with the meal was great. My wife ordered the "turkey" shepherds pie which was outstanding. Portions were generous and the home-made deserts, a carmel cake and a mouse pie were delicious as well. We would return anytime... Great meal and service...

Small restaurant on the water with lovely atmosphere. I wanted a light meal so I chose the spinach salad. It was very fresh and tasty. My husband had the fish and chips and enjoyed it very much.

Small restaurant nestled in an old train station on the waterfront, in front of the boardwalk. Not hard to find using Goggle Maps. Quiet setting with a beautiful view. Excellent food, much of it local. Reasonable prices. They do takeout. Excellent stop for travellers.
