The first time there last Saturday there was a band playing and the place was packed Unfortunately they only had two waitresses on and I don't know how many in the kitchen waited over 45 minutes for a coffee when the food came in it was dry burnt and had been sitting under the heat lamp now I know it has good ratings so I might just go and try it again. But a note to the owner when it is busy and you have a band you... View all feedback.
What Sheumais doesn't like about Super Mario's Pizza:
Mario's was sold a few years ago, with the only change being new owners. Unfortunately, the pizza is still subpar - either overcooked or undercooked, and quite greasy. The wings are also terrible, being overly greasy as well. To make matters worse, everything is extremely overpriced. We paid $44 for a pizza and wings that were almost inedible. The wings are also terrible, being overly greasy as well. To make matters worse, everything is extremely overpriced. We paid $44 for a pizza and wings that were almost inedible. We placed our order over the phone and were told it would be ready in 30 minutes. However, when we arrived with 5 minutes to spare, we ended up waiting another half hour. There was no apology for the delay. I regret ever recommending this place to my friends.
It seems that the restaurant is more focused on hosting bands to increase their revenue than on providing good service. The server never came to ask if we wanted more drinks, which is a basic tactic for making money in a bar or restaurant. It would make more sense for the restaurant to schedule additional staff on busy band nights to ensure better service and to ultimately make more money. We were very disappointed with our experience and will not be returning. We will also be sharing our negative experience with our friends and family.
My children really enjoy the pizza, and I personally love the panzerotti. This is definitely the best pizza spot in Port Colborne!
Pepperoni Cheese: While I liked the crust and the thickness of the dough, I found the sauce and cheese lacking in flavour and amount, respectively. While it is affordable for a large pizza at $15, the lack of depth in flavour overall is enough reason not to have it again. I ended up eating something else after to satisfy my appetite. It was as if I ate oven roasted bread with tomato sauce on the side for dipping. I resorted to sprinkling dried oregano and basil in hopes to add some depth/flavour. Perhaps, I'll go back for something else; I'll try their subs next time...?
Our go-to pizza place in Port since we moved here 10 years ago. Consistently delicious, fair prices, and always great service.
