Mountain View Bakery & Deli

Went for lunch left satisfyed. They have homemade soups sandwiches, there are always locals eating there, plus it has a full Bakery with to die for treats and breads.

En route from Nanimo to Tofino, this was our perfect halfway stop off, and even better to catch up with our son who was able to surprise his Grandma on her 83rd birthday. Staff were happy to arrange a birthday cake for Grandma and we sang 'Happy Birthday'. The vanilla and black cherry cake was deliciously moist and chocolate ganache icing superlative.

Whenever we're passing through Port Alberni, we make a point of stopping at Mountain View Bakery. Their "Mountain" bread is a delicious brown bread with nuts and other fruit in it. Great for making a sandwich or for toast. It has a good weight. The pies are also very good and their cream puffs are delicious. Worth a visit!

The cookies, pies and bread are great, service is great, that is important to us. The deli counter has good sandwiches and soups with a warm sitting section. nice coffee and tea selection.

My only complaint for this place is the hours. The only reason to go anywhere else for scrumptious donuts is the limited hours of this fabulous bakery. These donuts taste just like my mom's homemade donuts and bring back those memories of when you could eat a donut without thinking about calories ;)
