We shared an incredible meal at Tapanco. Venison machacha appetizer followed by grilled fish (dorado) and rice/beans, and I was able to snag a couple of shrimp from my wife's dinner plate as well. It was one of the best meals of our life! The wine was very tasty, and the predinner salad and soup were tremendous as well. There wasn't a single facet of our meal that disappointed! We will go back every time we visit Ros... View all feedback.
What bensquito doesn't like about Tapanco:
Very disappointed; rib-eye steak cooked medium rare was tough not tasty, I doubt it was a ribeye cut. Mushrooms we ordered tasted like they used older mushrooms, weren’t very fresh. Iceberg lettuce in the salad was not fresh. Spouse ordered arrechera beef, ordered cooked medium; came well done, seasoning was good tasted better than the ribeye, but smoke flavor was added to it, making it a little over bearing. We did... Food was very good. Service was good too. Everything was excellent, until our friend almost bit a loose screw that was cooked in his eggs. I regret not making a bigger deal out of this because all the manager did was offer an offhand or forced apology, explaining that the screw came from an old knife’s wooden handle. Ok, and? They did offer the same dish again, but that was basically it. We thought they would at least remove the dish from our check. They didn’t even have the decency to do that. And the waiter was visibly annoyed when we refused to tip. Granted, he’s not at fault for it, but the lack of accountability for such an incident is astounding. They know full well that’s a cause for a much bigger deal if this was the U.S. we were talking about. Again, great food and friendly staff, but such an incident is definitely keeping us from visiting ever again.

We did not enjoy the meal. The only thing we both liked was the cilantro soup. I went there several years ago it was good; I will never go back; there are too many good places to go eat. We went the day after Memorial Day.
Amazing food and experience! Our first visit to Mexico and on our drive back on the day trip we had a very hungry vegetarian family. A stop at this restaurant was the best part of our trip. They had not many vegetarian choices on menu but made whatever we asked for. The food was fresh and delicious, and service was great. We were served salsa and chips and then a made to order fresh salsa( amazing experience). We ordered veggie burritos with rice and beans, enchiladas, veggie tacos, cheese quesadillas and delish coconut cake. The dessert is not to be missed. We said no to it and they still asked us to look and we chose the coconut cake slices- oh I have never had such a delicious cake- nice flavorful cake with yummy not overly sweet coconut frosting. A must eat at place in Rosarito. The ambience was great as well… we sat by the water feature.
I was mad I had to even pay for this food. It was so bad. My toddler could have made a better meal seeing as this was all nasty frozen tasting fish, meat and fries. The salad was a plate of iceberg lettuce with a few random vegetables scattered on the side. I will never come back here. The best thing about this restaurant was the salsa specially prepared by the waiter which gave me hope that it would be good. But I was so sadly disappointed
We enjoyed very much. The lamb was fantastic. The rib eye had great flavor but too much fat. The salad was delicious.
