El Norte Grill - Plano

Very expensive for the quality and quantity of food you receive. The food is not really bad, but not really good at the same time. It seems that they use the same fillings for their tacos enchiladas and other dishes, with some or very little modifications to these dishes. It is a very cost-effective but profitable way to make Mexican food, which is good for their lower line, but not good for serious tasting Mexican food or your pocketbook! It was a little hard for me to give this place two stars. His understanding that, the owner had two other places he had to close, understandable because the food really is not so good. We moved here from Southern California two years ago, and have noticed a completely different kind and style of Mexican Fools here, the Mexican food is really not so good here in TEXAS, I feel the only reason that this place lives is because of an older localized clientele that does not want the hates of travel long distances for better food if there are! Good hole in the wall type tex-mex. Enchiladas are consistently good, filled jalapenos are phenomenal, could seriously eat them every day. Service can be met or miss. Good selection for vegetarians, including rice and beans. Vegans will fight.

We've been going to El Norte for years. Your food is quite fabulous, and the homemade salsa is the best in the DFW area. Dear El Norte!

Okay, here's the deal. My hard tacos weren't hard/crispy. The beef was so finely ground that it tasted. The salsa had chips that were still raw tasting. I am sure that for some of this food is great, but if you like Mexican food and Southwest flavors, then I would say go somewhere else. We will not return to this place.

Not the greatest but the young man that greeted me was respectful and knowledgeable, food not the best. I order chicken fajitas, it came to me hot but burnt smell and the red sauce that came with it not sure what it was tasted like water down spaghetti sauce ?. Probably won't be back there seems to be better restaurants in the area. Place was not busy at all and I say down for lunch.
