As someone who previously worked at a Fox's Location. I compare their food to something I would've made for a customer on a daily basis. With that being said; the food is always delivered hot, the drivers are kind, and personally the White Pizza and Steak Hoagie are 2 items I frequently order that 100% live up to the standards I have. Very good pizza we just moved to Brookline and we normally get mollys pizza in dormont but we wanted something closer and must say this is going to be our place for when we want pizza or hoggies amazing food nice people too. My hands were full and the nice young man who was working their with their family I assume cuz he was very young 15 or 16 i would say was so sweet and helped me with the door will be going again
This is a long one lol. In 2015, I was working as an event planner and community supports specialist for adults with disabilities. A small group of us began our Thursday’s at the Brookline Public library playing games, making art and reading about any topic that came to mind. We then would make our way to the local pizza shop which became routine over the next 6 months. At first, The owner seemed simply indifferent to us coming in every week. He was not a very friendly man and over time he seemed annoyed and even bothered when we walked through the door. However, Dan, an employee who still works there to this day, was so welcoming and friendly. He learned our names, engaged in conversations with each individual and we all looked forward to pizza and seeing Dan weekly. One blistery, snowy day in the single digits. We approached the door eager to get to warmth and the door was locked. It was like 11:55am and they opened at noon. As we piled in a mob in the doorway trying to block the wind and snow, Through the glass door I could see a perplexed expression on Dans face as he turned away from the owner- which quickly turned into a bewildered yet solemn one as he met my eyes. Perhaps it was just a bad day for that pizza shop owner, I don’t know. But he left our group waiting at the door, in the cold and wet snow until the second hand clicked on the 12 for noon before asking Dan to unlock the door. We did not go back. It’s important to understand the impact change in routine and environment has on those who thrive on strict schedules and familiarity in there surroundings. We never did find a suitable establishment for our lunches despite our exploring a variety over the next month or so. And then one day, we were sitting in a room in the library doing some activity or another and we see Dan walk through the door. He wanted to invite us back to Foxes pizza for lunch and that the new owners, Matt and Katie, upon hearing the unnecessary and unwelcoming treatment we received form the previous owner, immediately asked him to literally, come find us and let us know we were welcome anytime and they would be happy to have us. The room brightened up from the smiles on everyone’s face. We did go to eat pizza that day-which honestly is deliciousness-and we have been eating lunch there ever since. I wanted to share this story for two reasons. First, Foxes Pizza in Brookline (and this is not true for all Foxes locations) Is one of my top picks for my favorite pizza. Two, when you work with individuals with unimaginable hurdles in menial daily activities (in which we ALL take for granted), when you witness first hand the exclusion, the judgements, the downright offensive treatment given to the most innocent and loving humans (impressive given the mountainous struggles they endure); I feel it is my duty to bring recognition to the compassionate people, the people offering inclusion and understanding, the people that recognize the beauty, the positives, the intrigue and uniqueness these often pushed aside individuals possess. So Matt and Katie-thank you so very much for giving us a warm and comfortable environment to enjoy some wickedly good food. Yinz...are GOOD people. Xoxo
Just a good little spot to get some food not bad at all. They’ve changed put some more options on the menu good people. If you want a quick bite, I’d stop by.
