As always, our meal was perfection. We were greeted warmly. Began with an inventive and delicious cocktail (La Belle). The food is well-thought out. A variety of very creative and delicious dishes. You can’t try them all so you’re always leaving with the intention of returning soon! The wine selection is quite good but I couldn’t give up my cocktail to include wine the other night. Wonderful high quality French food in Montclair. The oysters and beef tartare were delicious. Service was impeccable and very friendly. Sommelier provided great wine pairing recommendations. Loved the starters a bit more for their flair and strong flavors, than than the main courses. Chicken felt too everyday after the scrumptious caviar and beef tartare. This will be a very mixed review. The food and the special paternity menu were fabulous. The Cassoulet was wonderful as the maple bacon that appeared in several dishes. Drinks were good. This is a small restaurant and a waiter and sous cook never shown. The problem was getting food to the table in time, which did not happen. Even drinks on the table made it difficult to wait as it took and half an hour to serve. Not sure what they did to correct. Will give them another chance
Pearl is a tartaric acid motto in the bay. I have gone through many a list of the best tartar in the bay or SF and pearl wins most of them. All right!
Food was fantastic—but slow in coming. Service is spotty. Very friendly atmosphere!
