THEEE best AUTHENTIC Mexican restaurant in Joplin! Their tamales, rice and beans taste just like my abuelita's family recipe! I crave their Carne Asada Tacos Especial's daily! It is a small, local, family owned business and cooks are all family as well. Prices are very low for the amount of excellent, fresh quality of food they make. Lots of options too. The food was okay tasting but honestly it wasn't anything special. I got 5 tacos and a horchata for like 14 bucks so it's cheap but the food was low quality. There was way too much stem in the cilantro and the chicken seemed low grade. But the red and green sauce is pretty good and so is the horchata. View all feedback.

Very good, ... edit had to up my last review, my last visit was very good, however the meal I had today was over the top good, so very good. Give them a try you won't be let down.
I think it's very authentic Mexican food. Very clean
First time here, and the service was great. Even them being busy. The food was full of flavor and worth the stop. Being from Tucson,Az, it's hard to find good and full of flavor mexican food around here. Lalo's is close to a quick bite to eat as it comes. Honestly, the food holds its own, and comparing it to what I grew up on, it's a 9/10 for me. We will be back for sure to try other items on the menu.
I LOVE Lalo's. I'm originally from El Paso, TX and this is seriously like a piece of home. The barbacoa is amazing, the tamales are perfect, the salsa Verde is my favorite.
