Beautiful pre-Civil War era home named for Charles G. Learned who moved to the property in 1859. He was a prominent businessman who built additions onto the property. It is now a bed breakfast named after President James Garfield a friend of the Learneds and frequent guest. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. View all feedback. While we were disappointed the restaurant and bar are no longer available (without mention on website or literature), the breakfast was wonderful and served by smiling faces. This may not be a place for the young or spirited, with the hosts making it known that this was a place for peace, rest, and tranquility. read moreHad dinner there on Father's day, a bit pricey and not much variety. I don't think they'll get many locals there, maybe vacation people.
First time staying there felt like home. The owner Theresa was a great host . will recommend others to stay there. Was an awesome time to exspences history .
