tocaya is one of my favorite places to stop a quick lunch. they offer a vegan chick, tofu, two different vegan cheese and a vegan chipotle crema sauce. they can use them to customize a lot of aligning. their quesadillas and shells are so good and fresh. great service at this place. What User doesn't like about Tocaya Modern Mexican:
my man wanted a beer and they don't have one. I wanted an unsweetened icy and again they didn't just sweeten. we have the grill ananas bowl. my man has not eaten enough and he is not a big guy. he said they should give them more tears and buzz as they are cheap. View all feedback.
Loved the amount of vegan and gluten free options! We went twice while in Phoenix for a trip and both times the food was excellent.
I stopped in here while I was visiting Phoenix yesterday with my sister to get some lunch. I have seen it many times and heard it was good, thought we would give it a try. When we came in there was a younger gentleman, blonde hair, looked higher than a kite, (didn’t catch a name, didn’t see a name tag) who was working the front, that was more distracted with his cell phone than taking care of customers. When he FINALLY did greet us, he seemed almost bothered that we were there. I mean it was lunch time.. think you would be happy to have customers. When we did get our orders in, I wasn’t sure if he was even listing to me because he had both his AirPods in and was checking his phone the entire time. Which to my belief working in a food environment it doesn’t seem sanitary.. Which made the experience over all uneasy. The food wasn’t exactly bad, but next time I’ll just order online. Considering everyone is on their phones… I might get better service that way.. since I can’t get it in person.
Fantastic food! While visiting I also found out about Taco Tuesday: Tacos, Margs and Beer all discounted. Definitely will go back!
Good food, great drinks, and friendly staff in a fast casual environment. There is a wide variety of fresh ingredients and their menu options are all super customizable. They offer outdoor seating and also have a full bar. Would be a great place to grab a bite before catching a movie upstairs. Already looking forward to making my way through the menu!
So many taco places in phx. This is only worth it if for whatever reason it fits your convenience. Thought it be a sit down restaurant but it’s counter service. The margs are good, especially when happy hour price. Most things are vegan, so if that’s your jam, here ya go. The tacos fall flat. Tortillas are mediocre at best. The Baja fish taco was solid with a decent size piece of fish. The carne Asada taco was worthless with what seems like two tablespoons of meat and a tiny by avocado slice. The other tacos (chicken and/or veggie) are just eh. The guac is also the same. Not mush to it but the plantain chips are well cooked but under seasoned. Come to happy hour and see for yourself.
