Simple but welcoming restaurant/bar, the restaurant is upstairs. The food is plentiful and most dishes are pretty good. Some dishes are fresher and more authentic, the chorizo is very good and probably local source, while the fried Calamari are obviously frozen, but still decent. The paella is tasteful and plentiful, enough for 4 people easy. The prices are very reasonable and you are not hungry. The Sangria is refreshing and a bit too sweet, fortunately the triple champagne and peach schnapps do not overwhelm the aromas.
It was almost 20 years since our last visit to Tio Pepe 's, and last night not disappointed. Let's start with the friendly service of the waiting staff. Erica was phenomenal. She didn't miss a beat! Our drinks? Your Sangria was the perfect degree of sweetness. And our food? From a super-fresh Salada Mista to Carne De Porco a Alentejana to Paelha Marinheira everything was delicious! Oh, I almost forgot Dessert. My chocolate mousse was very satisfied as my husband 's Serradura (I just had to try it). Muito obrigado!
Wow! This restaurant, service and has been amazing! So tentative and hospitable, amazing staff, wonderful food, really went out of their way for me! Definitely give. 5 star plus, plus, plus! Like 20 star. Amazing! Thank you so much for everything and the amazing service!
Perhaps it was the result of inflation, but the paella (spelling incorrect) was noticeably less saffrony than previous visits. Nevertheless, this fine restaurant is well worth the flight of steep steps to the second floor to get there. The Portuguese eat dinner late, so the hours prior to 8pm are prime for us Americanos. The portions are more than generous. Good food, nice folks.
