What User doesn't like about Spuntino Philly:
Their pizzas are picture-perfect, but compared to other pizzerias of the same caliber, like Vetri's or Osteria for example, I found Spuntino underwhelming. First, all of our 4 my pizzas was burned at the bottom, meaning black and bitter. Then, I m not at all a fun of their ingredients. Amazing Neapolitan pizza. We went there with a group of 9 for a Batchelor party. The owner Sal made us 6 pizzas of his choice. They were all amazing! There is an outstanding wine selection too! He also had a Basil gelato that was amazing as well! A must try!
Spuntino is a neighborhood treasure, and Sal is a delightful and a masterful chef. The pizzas are absolutely delicious, as is the house-made gelato and creatively composed salads. The restaurant is always warm, welcoming, and cozy, a great spot for a casual evening dinner with friends and family.
First time at this place. I had the Salsiccia...sweet Italian sausage, mozzarella, and basil. Simple and delicious. I even ate the CRUST. Soft, chewy, and cooked just right. Awesome spot for great pizza, with fresh, simple ingredients.
