Metro 8 is a quaint Italian restaurant located in a great neighborhood with a large gated parking lot. The atmosphere is cozy, and the service is friendly and attentive, especially mentioning a waitress named Lindsay. The food quality is good, with highlights including porcini mushroom noodles, steaks, and grilled chicken. The BYOB policy is a nice touch, and the desserts are fantastic. Although some reviewers noted issues with the parking situation and rushed service, Metro 8 seems to be a popular choice for casual dining and special occasions. Overall, it offers a solid dining experience with an Italian feel that could use some improvement in specific areas but still remains a viable option in the area.
I live in the building and could not be happierI have tried most everything on the menu and you can't go wrong.
I've only done takeout so far and the food was good, however the restroom was disgusting.
We had a reservation for a table of 6 for 8:30 pm (the restaurant closes at 9). When we arrived, the waitress rushed us to order, rushed to take our food away, then automatically added a 25% GRATUITY TO OUR BILL. She was extremely rude and I have never felt more unwelcome in a restaurant. Food was ok though, so I guess they have that going for them. I will not be returning to this establishment
Very quiet restaurant, actually it was empty on a Saturday night. I forgot it was a BYO restaurant, but they were nice enough to provide a complimentary drink. Great, friendly service and very nice, clean environment. It has the look I like for an Italian restaurant: low lighting, Italian scenery, etc. The food was just OK, which was disappointing because I love Italian food and the place definitely has an authentic Italian feel. But the food was nothing special. Probably the biggest drawback overall was the parking situation. I didn't realize when I made the reservation that the restaurant is attached to a residential building, and the parking lot is for residents only. There are no pay lots nearby so we had to park on Spring Garden and walk a few blocks. I think there might be street parking normally but there is currently construction so that was not an option. Not that big a deal but the weather was cold and rainy. Overall it was fine but there are definitely better options for Italian.
