Rec's Hushpuppie Heaven - Pflugerville

This place was great! The owner was behind the counter, he answered all our menu questions and made suggestions. He was very personal. We had the Fiesta-Fries(picture below) with chicken, beef, aioli, green paprika, pico and cilantro. Then the Mac cheese hush puppies It was all amazing! My husband said the corn dog was one of the best he had! We will definitely come back!

I got some food here, and it was always delicious. They are known for their Hushpuppies, but their catfish basket is excellent. I am very special and picky about catfish, and this is by far one of the best fried catfish I had. The dough is not thick, it is crispy, and the fish is flocky. The owner and the staff are friendly and beautiful people too. I want to work my way through her menu.

On Recs during the visit of friends... Had the hush puppies (mac n’ cheese jalapeño/bacon/shrimp) and catfish. So good!!! Great crunch and so economical! Also chatted with Kenneth, the owner who is a beautiful person! We ate and he dumped 2 water bottles just to be friendly! Served our country for 16 years and now we serve our bells!!! I'll be back for the next time!!!

Oh, my God. The food here is excellent. I had the best corn dog I ever had, and I had the shrimp bacon and Jalapeno Hushpuppies. Sooo good. Really. Eat here. The lady who works there was also very nice.

Everything I had was amazing and the owners were so friendly! Highly recommended!
