This was my first visit, and it certainly won't be my last. This place is fantastic! At first, it reminded me of Cracker Barrel, which I adore. They have the largest pecan rolls for sale—simply unbelievable! They also offer massive peanut butter cookies and chocolate chip cookies at the counter. DELICIOUS! The seating is spacious and comfortable. We went on a Saturday afternoon, and it was so quiet and peaceful. Our... View all feedback.
Good country style restaurant right next the interstate on the outskirts of Milwaukee. Outstanding Carrot Cake. Sausage Eggs Benedict.
So be warned, prices are higher here than your average place. BUT the food was so good. Pictured are the two appetizers, the barbecue potato skins and the haystack onions. The potato skins were ok, but admittedly that’s just never been my jam, to eachtheir own. My husband enjoyed them though. We both LOVED the haystack…so crunchy and just exactly what they should be. Alsopictured is the hand breaded chicken sandwich and for an extra $1 I substituted for sweet potato fries. They sprinkle a littlesugar over them which was different. But the sandwich was pretty good…had a nice crispy layer to the chicken and wasdelicious. Not pictured was the brisket dinner my husband got and he said it was tasty! I’d probably eat here more if I livedcloser and the prices were a bit lower, but I can say that we’ll definitely be back bc at least you get REALLY tasty food forthe price!
Amazing fish fry. We went on a date night here while the baby spent time with grandma and it was such a good time. Server was so great and unlimited all you can eat fish with tons of sides.
Always a good meal here. This trip, I went for the Smoked Prime Rib, served on Saturdays only. As a Texan that eats prime rib on the regular, I give this one an A-. It was very well executed and tasty. 14oz was a nice size for my big appetite. It was definitely juicy and cooked perfectly medium as I ordered . I didn?t say A+ because I never got a ?smoked? flavor when eating it. Could be the mild smoke from the local trees or charcoal but the steak was certainly good enough to come back for. Garlic mash potatoes and vegetables made a good pairing. As always the French Onion Soup was a good choice. I finished up with the Banana Cream Pie and it was very good as well. A bit too much cream for me but that?s a personal choice. Very good meal.
The waitress was very amusing and friendly. Food was really good! Loved the beer cheese Di with bread sticks. Had also sangria. Chicken strips were dipped by hand. Pig meat was delicious on a Brioche bean. French onion soup... Would definitely go back and try the dinner menu as we were there for lunch.
